Effective Date: July 2026
These SMS Terms describe the text-message program operated by LA Periodontics & Implant Specialists ("we," "us," or "our"). By providing your phone number and opting in through our website form or in our office, you consent to receive text messages from us as described below. This policy is designed to comply with United States federal law, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA, 47 U.S.C. § 227), Application-to-Person 10-Digit Long Code (A2P 10DLC) standards administered by The Campaign Registry (TCR), and the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices.
Our SMS program is a service of LA Periodontics & Implant Specialists, located at 11859 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 550, Los Angeles, CA 90025. We use text messages to communicate with patients and prospective patients about matters directly related to their care and inquiries with our practice.
We do not use SMS for general marketing broadcasts or promotional campaigns.
You will only receive text messages from us if you have expressly opted in. Opt-in occurs when you check the SMS consent box on our website form, or when you provide written or verbal consent in our office. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service, and is not required to schedule or receive care. We do not purchase, rent, or trade phone number lists from third parties, and a prior relationship with our practice alone does not constitute opt-in consent for text messaging.
We retain records of the consent you provide, including the date and time you opted in, the method of opt-in (website form, in-office form, or verbal consent recorded by staff), and the specific consent language you agreed to. If you have questions about the consent on file for your number, please contact our office.
Message frequency varies based on your care and communications with our office. In a typical month, most patients receive between one and five messages.
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. LA Periodontics & Implant Specialists does not charge for text messages, but your carrier may. Please check with your mobile provider for information about your plan.
You may opt out of text messages from us at any time by replying STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT to any message you receive from us. After you opt out, we will send you one confirmation message and will not send any further texts unless you opt in again.
For help or more information about our text-message program, reply HELP to any message you receive from us, or contact our office directly at (310) 473-3800 or office@laperiodontics.com.
Our SMS program is available across all major United States mobile carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, MetroPCS, Boost Mobile, Cricket, and Virgin Mobile. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We will not send messages that fall outside the scope of our patient-care communications. Consistent with carrier and industry rules, we do not send messages containing content related to sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco, cannabis, gambling, loans, or any illegal activity. We do not send spam, phishing, malicious content, or messages designed to evade filtering. We honor federal and state Do Not Call registrations and do not text-market to numbers on those lists.
We do not sell, rent, or share the phone numbers you provide for text messaging with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information collected in connection with SMS opt-in, including the consent you provide, will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional use. For a complete description of how we handle information collected through our website, please see our Privacy Policy. Note that Protected Health Information (PHI) that we maintain as part of your care is governed by our separate HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which is available in our office.
We may update these SMS Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, applicable regulations, or the guidance published by mobile carriers and industry organizations such as the CTIA. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of our text-message program after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
